What a wedding! Heidi and Myles had a picture perfect ceremony and reception,
filled with personal details and lots of love.

 The Girls:

The Boys:

The Ring Bearer:
Get a load of his tux! He did a great job walking down the aisle and delivering the rings to the best man.  Myles and Heidi told me that they dress up their pooch at every opportunity :)

The Mansion at Strathmore, as always, provided a spectacular venue for the reception. I love the gardens, outdoor patios, and historical interior. So picturesque.
And not to mention that the staff is top notch.

The bride and groom, announced as husband and wife, entering their reception....

The toasts had me cracking up - hilarious - and so heartfelt.

Check out this adorable cake with two doggie cake toppers!

The First Dance.
Myles and Heidi were SO prepped! They coordinated a really great first dance that they rocked!

Many congratulations you two!

As we come upon the fall - so rapidly - here are some of the faces I have met over the last week. Some of secrets told..

Of brotherhood shared...

Of the moments before...

Of impending adolescence...

Of moments with family...spread far and wide...

Of the wide-eyed wonderment of youth...

and of a fall...blossoming with new beginnings...

see you on the 24th at our holiday gift show!
more to come-

The rain held off this morning, and we got these beautiful overcast skies and bright colors at a really fun mini session. Rachel and Russ held the session at their home, and invited over some friends who have been a part of the same parents group since their kids were just a few weeks old. Rachel has this great home in DC that provided a lot of fun opportunities for the kids to be, well, kids. I wouldn't be surprised if that everyone (me included) went down for a nap really quickly!

Thanks everyone! I hope you had a blast! Here's a sneak peak of some of my fav's, after a quick glance at what we shot this morning.

I had the pleasure of working with close friend and PR guru Amber Pfau (owner of Amber Pfau Communications) this afternoon. The focus were her beautiful children, as though there could be any other focus with them around. I have to say, as I was shooting these, I thought back to how many times I look at pictures of me with my brother and sister when we were their age. Pretty amazing to know that these cuties will one day grow up and say "look how little we were!"

And......................
we're done.

I had the great joy of working with Daily Candy Editor Erin Hartigan this morning for a fun photoshoot. In addition to the first three notes of every good song produced in the 1970's, a list of shoot locations always floats around in my head. For this beautiful spring days shoot, a nearby wonderful street loaded with endless colorful rowhouses seemed like the perfect fit. Then Erin shows up in this green shirt, her green eyes glowing in the light, and I thought, yeah, that's about exactly what I was looking for. So we went over to the location and she rocked it.

And one that pulls me back to some image that I saw of Joan Baez years ago...Erin sure looks great in color, but I love this antique treatment of her as well. Her soulful, creative self just shines through.

If you haven't before checked out her work on the Daily Candy - take a look. Small businesses owners like me owe her the world for the support she gives us, and women like me are crying mercy because of all the great things we find and have to have on the Daily Candy each and every day. Check it out - it's the best local resource around.
